Yoga Tutorial for Beginners & Intermediate Levels
This class is tailored for beginner's but also suited for intermediate level yogis. Some previous yoga experience would be helpful but not necessary. The focus is on alignment, sequencing, organic movement, stretch and flexibility. The pace is moderate to slow, sometimes holding asanas (postures) for several breaths, building endurance, and bringing physical and spiritual strength together. Colleen guides the student through the full postures, providing instruction on good form and alignment. Additional tutorials are available that provide a more detailed level of instruction and possible modifications to postures for a beginner just starting out with yoga.
This is a part of a series of full-length tutorials that will provide the student with the basics required for learning Yoga postures at their own pace, achieving the benefits, and preparing them for participation in more advanced yoga classes.
A Certified Yoga Instructor with over 20 years of experience, Colleen Boveri came to yoga in 1991 after an auto accident left her with lingering discomfort in her neck and spine. After trying several teachers she finally found one that not only helped with the pain, but also changed the way she thought and lived. She has devoted her life to studying and learning ways to help individuals heal and live a more productive life. Her students enjoy her balanced and non-intimidating approach to teaching Hatha Yoga and her desire to make yoga accessible to all people.
